Youthful Energy and Musical Maturity in Every Performance
Izzi Hughes is a Hendersonville, NC native who at the age of nine began playing guitar in the midst of various musical theatre and acting classes at the Flat Rock Playhouse; including roles in several of their main stage plays. Upon turning twelve, she channeled all her time and energy into music, taking private lessons in acoustic/electric guitar, voice, and piano. She also joined her music school’s Rock Band Program and for the next three years fronted a band called Calculated Error. Calculated Error was featured on WLOS Morning Show and played at a myriad of venues and local benefits including Relay for Life at the NC Agricultural Center and the famous NC Apple Festival on their main downtown stage. In January of 2015, she went to Nashville TN and recorded two original songs on music row with producer Dave Fowler. After winning Wild Wing Café’s (Asheville, NC location) Acoustic Throwdown competition in March of 2015, Izzi began performing as a solo artist. For the last six years, Izzi has been making the rounds in WNC’s local music scene at breweries, vineyards, restaurants, and more. In 2018, Izzi was accepted to Belmont University and is finishing up her degree in Music Business and Production. Izzi still performs in NC when she is home to visit, but recently she moved Brentwood, TN where she is already starting to book dates at local venues. This talented 21-year old's performances deliver youthful energy and musical maturity. Her five-foot stature belies a powerful voice that continues to “wow” patrons of all ages, as does her eclectic mix of songs that remind audiences of the old ones they have forgotten, while putting a unique twist on the new ones of today. Izzi’s incredible talent and drive to succeed have shattered many misconceptions about her ability to professionally perform at such a young age.
